Launch of PhotoUpLink for Windows enables personal area publishing

Simply distribute large image and video files to email recipients, FTP servers, and ODBC data sources with one application.

OAKLAND, CA September 18 2007 – PhotoUpLink for Windows is now available for download and purchase at http://www.photouplink.com. PhotoUpLink offers a variety of features to Windows users, for images, video and other file types. Included are a complete FTP and SFTP feature set, enabling direct upload of images to many image gallery websites. Sending image and video binary data directly to any ODBC data source is now possible, including EXIF metadata. PhotoUpLink also integrates with Microsoft Office applications.

Most uploads are followed by notification to individuals of the location of the files. These users then must login and download – PhotoUpLink simplifies this process with innovative email attachments that will import these files into a local Windows My Pictures folder with Windows PhotoUpLink installed. No longer are photos and videos being sent limited by attachment size restrictions, the PhotoUpLink generated email triggers downloads directly from any FTP site, eliminating email server limits. Additionally, PhotoUpLink.Net is provided as a service to PhotoUpLink users to streamline this process.

PhotoUpLink’s data features allow export of image information to Excel or an SQL database.  ODBC export sends both EXIF metadata and the binary information of any group of images and video to any ODBC data source that supports binary large objects, including MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB 2 or Microsoft SQL Server.  PhotoUpLink is a comprehensive, accessible media warehousing solution, available directly from the context menu.

For users of Microsoft Office, PhotoUpLink will create a PowerPoint presentation or Word document based on photos selected.  “This really takes the manual labor out of setting up these documents. PhotoUpLink positions the images and title text for you automatically on each page or slide, a great starting point from which users can easily resize, relocate, and add information to”, explained PhotoUpLink creator and author Mark Morris.

Rounding out the feature set of PhotoUpLink are the convenient panorama creator and QuickTime movie joining tool. Short QuickTime movies are often imported from many camera devices. Joining them together is possible by selecting them in PhotoUpLink and using the Effects section. Panorama creation is also available in Effects.

Developer Mark Morris today announced that PhotoUpLink for iPhoto ‘08 is available and can be downloaded and purchased from http://www.photouplink.com. All users of PhotoUpLink who have upgraded to iLife ’08 should download the new version for continued functionality, and access to new features.

“With Apple’s new plugin interface support in iPhoto ’08, it is now possible to access more data about individual images “, said PhotoUpLink creator and author Mark Morris from Jack London Square. PhotoUpLink for iPhoto ’08 uses this information to enhance the database creation process from image libraries. Both Excel spreadsheets and SQL databases created using PhotoUpLink now have expanded entries for all EXIF information available from iPhoto, in sortable, searchable column entries.

The rest of PhotoUpLink’s features are fully compatible with iPhoto ’08. Both FTP and secure FTP exports can create notification emails that trigger automatic downloading by recipients, using any FTP server. PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets can be created from iPhoto libraries with Office X or Office 2004. Any ODBC data source can be exported to that supports binary large objects, including MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB 2 or Microsoft SQL Server.
